Miramar Sea Museum is open during the Christmas holidays, from Wednesday December 27 to Sunday January, except on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. There are all kinds of fun activities planned, especially for children.
Children can make a beautiful pendant every day by covering a wooden ornament with shells. Nice for the Christmas tree. For younger children there is the opportunity to make a monster from shells and clay.
On Wednesday, December 27, there will be a workshop with Decopatch to make a shell dish (also for adults) and on December 28 and January 3 there will be another drawing workshop by children’s book author, illustrator and shell expert Hans Post from Diever. Children can bring their special shell or other beautiful natural find. Hans Post can tell you more about it. The drawing workshop starts at 1:00 PM. On December 29, corals will be the focus, with a quiz by Tanja Velthove from Seacleaners-int. Storyteller Jeanet comes to Miramar on January 2 to tell the story about the white whale. Finally, on January 4 there will be a special afternoon about Plastic Soup. Just like during the autumn holidays, you can learn more about this major problem of our oceans, but you can also do fun things with it. Let your imagination run wild and make special animals from plastic waste. Most activities are free. Check the website, also to register: www.miramar-zeemuseum.nl
