Miracle in Bruges: lost ring reappears

An honest finder accidentally found the ring and took it to the police. The owner and the finder, both from Bruges, met each other this afternoon.

Emotional value

The ring has a very special meaning for Marie-Jeanne Roose. She received the valuable piece of jewelry from her husband, a few weeks before his death, now 8 years ago. When she suddenly discovered that the ring was no longer on her finger, she was very shaken.

Marie-Jeanne Roose: “It’s with brilliants and with a sapphire. It was a very expensive ring. I won’t say the price huh, that’s so stupid. I’m not going to say, okay? But it was an expensive ring and it was my husband’s last gift to me too, so”.

Small miracle

Marie-Jeanne attends the celebration and reception of the association “Male Where We Live”. When she leaves, the ring slips off her hand and falls somewhere in the parking lot at the church. Together with chairman Carlos De Rock, the area is combed, but in vain. And then a small miracle happens.

Finder Herman Van Parys: “I bumped against that ring with my foot. And it caught my attention. And I found it under a hedge. It had rolled into it. Very simple actually, yes.
