Four minors were threatened with a weapon by two young men at Bloemendaal station last night around 8:30 PM. One of the young people had to give up his coat. Police arrested one suspect and are still looking for a second.
The perpetrators fled on a scooter. That scooter was later found in the bushes along Delftlaan in Haarlem-Noord. After the robbery, the police made a call via Burgernet, which showed that the perpetrators were approximately sixteen years old and were wearing balaclavas and gloves.
That call had results. An observant citizen saw the suspects and called the police. He managed to arrest one of the suspected perpetrators. He’s still stuck.
In the interest of the investigation, a police spokesperson does not want to say whether the perpetrators threatened with a firearm or stabbing weapon. Two victims have now filed a report. One reported the theft of his coat, the second reported threats. The four threatened young people are very shocked, the police report.
Scooter without license plate
It is not yet clear whether the scooter was stolen. This is still being investigated, but it is clear that there was no license plate on the vehicle. In any case, it is not a fat bike, the spokesperson emphasizes.
The police are still looking for witnesses to the robbery and hope that there are people who have camera images showing the fleeing suspects. This concerns, for example, images of a smart doorbell from the area around Marsmanplein and Delftlaan in Haarlem-Noord. This information can be used to determine the escape route of the perpetrators.
