The minor boy from the municipality of Groningen who was arrested for the assault of FVD party leader Thierry Baudet was still in custody on Wednesday morning.
This was reported by a police spokesperson. The spokesperson cannot say how long the boy will remain in custody.

Baudet was hit on the head with a beer bottle on Monday around 6 p.m. during an election event in café The Cabin on the Gedempte Zuiderdiep in Groningen. The FVD leader suffered a head wound from the attack. He was hit just above his eye and on the back of his head. On Tuesday, Baudet indicated that he wanted to continue with the campaign.
The police were able to arrest the suspect shortly after the incident. The police do not want to say exactly how old the suspect is. The police spokesperson believes it was an underage boy on Wednesday. Various media previously wrote that it concerns a 15-year-old boy.
