From 8 July 2022, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate will share an update every week on the state of affairs of gas consumption and storage in the Netherlands. This will be shared on Rijksoverheid.nl/gas and on social media. This short overview shows the weekly progress of filling the gas storage, the total gas consumption in the Netherlands, the supply of gas to Europe and the European gas price during the past week.
Russia currently supplies much less gas to Europe, causing energy prices to rise further and the risk of gas shortages increasing. In the Netherlands, the first level of a gas crisis was announced on 20 June, with which the Gas Protection and Recovery Plan (BH-G) came into effect. High prices and concerns about the energy market affect everyone. The ministry therefore wants to share information about the Dutch and European gas situation on a structural basis. Over time, this weekly update will be expanded with additional information.
