Minister Yeşilgöz-Zegerius (Justice and Security) visited French President Macron in Paris on October 31, 2023. During their 50-minute meeting they discussed, among other things, domestic security, extremism, migration and tackling organized crime. The situation in the Middle East was also discussed as well as the effects this has in France and the Netherlands, including anti-Semitism. A number of European dossiers were also discussed, including European independence (the Open Strategic Autonomy) and sustainability. It has been agreed that France and the Netherlands will continue and intensify their excellent cooperation on safety dossiers. Crime does not stop at the border.
