Minister of Finance Vincent Van Peteghem (CD&V) has imposed a deadline on the banks in which they must raise the interest on savings books. “If nothing has changed within a month, if interest rates do not rise, then there is a problem of competition in the market,” the minister said on Canvas in ‘The appointment on Friday’. “Then we will see what further steps we need to take.”
