Minister of Justice has been allowed to leave safehouse
Van Quickenborne was in hiding in an undisclosed location with his wife and two children after an attempt to kidnap him was thwarted. “Last night the decision was made that I was allowed to leave the safe house,” said the justice minister. “I am still under high security, so I have to limit my movements to the essentials. But I thought it was important to be here today (in Etterbeek, ed.) because I know these people, who are ready every day to protect us , am grateful for their efforts, dedication and work.”
combative
The minister remains combative, but his privacy appears to have been seriously damaged as a result. “Going to the bakery alone on Sundays will no longer be an option as long as I am Minister of Justice.”
