In the West Bank, radical Jewish settlers are taking advantage of the Gaza war to drive Palestinians from their villages. This has nothing to do with the fight against Hamas, but has already led to at least thirteen villages being abandoned and at least seven Palestinians being killed by Israeli civilians. The Palestinians also had to leave behind a school built with Belgian money. Which makes Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez (Vooruit) fiercely criticize “colonist violence”.
