Gru and the Minion Eight in Minions 2 – How Gru Gets Despicable by Kyle Balda. (Press Office)

They were born as supporting actors, as “shoulders” of the very bad protagonist (Gru is the abbreviation of gruesome, that is “horrifying”) but with the strength of their comedy the Minions stole the show and became the real stars. This is also confirmed by this new film which, after having shot for the summer arenas, has now arrived at the cinema.

Minions 2, the plot

The film begins with little Gru determined to become a supervillain and ready to take an “hearing” from his idols, the Malefics 6, in search of a new leader after their disappearance. But when he is laughed at for being too young – he is eleven – he decides to take revenge stealing from the Malefics the precious Zodiac Stone. But also this time Gru hasn’t reckoned with his bean-shaped helpers that instead of helping him end up complicating his life.

And it is at this point that the film becomes a kind of firework of gimmicks and gags that have the Minions at the center, led by the irrepressible trio formed by Kevin, Stuart and Bob. After all there are no new inventions: everything comes from their ignorance and from the fact that they always get the opposite of what they are looking for but the result is hilarious and never has a break. Believe it.

For those who want to become a little child again.
