The two entrepreneurs Maximilian Obwexer and Peter Taschler told the daily newspaper derstandard.de that they guarantee 99 percent efficiency. The device should also be significantly quieter than the classic fan heater. The article also states that two such devices would be sufficient to heat a single-family house of around 120 square meters. Cost point: 980 euros per piece.

The Lower Austrian IT specialist Christian Hascheck took advantage of exactly this situation two years ago. He explained to the Süddeutsche Zeitung that he uses the waste heat from his computers, which they produce when calculating the cryptocurrency Ethereum. On some days, he explained, he could even halve his heating costs with the waste heat from the computers.

Nevertheless, the article in the Süddeutsche Zeitung explains how the mining heating alternative is linked to a speculative boom. The future of cryptocurrency is uncertain, as is its stability.

As the article explains, waste heat from computers can also be passed on. The computer center of the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt is mentioned as an example. The waste heat produced there is used by a hotel located opposite the ECB building.
