Minden missed liberation in the table basement

After a bitter defeat, GWD Minden is still stuck deep in the table basement of the Handball Bundesliga.

The traditional club lost on Thursday at the bottom ASV Hamm-Westfalen with 26:31 (11:12) and remains penultimate. After five points from three games, it was a sensitive setback for Minden.

“We weren’t there, not hot enough. It’s bitter to admit that, but it’s the truth,” said GWD trainer Frank Carstens on “Sky”: “The performance hurts, we have to analyze it first don’t talk about relegation.”

The two-time German champion (11:39 points) missed the leap to the saving 16th place, which is still occupied by HSG Wetzlar (13:39). For Hamm it was only the third win on the 27th match day, the newly promoted team (7:47) remains bottom of the table with some deficit.

TVB Stuttgart (18:36) pulled away from the relegation zone a little with a 30:25 (13:10) at SC DHfK Leipzig. Frisch Auf Göppingen (17:37) lost 28:31 (13:11) at HSV Hamburg and fell behind Stuttgart.
