The military spokesman for the pro-Russian ‘people’s republic’ of Donetsk yesterday advocated the use of chemical weapons in the besieged Ukrainian port city of Mariupol. Eduard Basurin said on Russian state television that he wanted to “fume out” the last remaining Ukrainian troops that way.
