Miley Cyrus reveals bizarre work schedule as a 13-year-old: ‘Twelve hours a day, six days a week’ | show

Those who heard Miley Cyrus sing as Hannah Montana and hear her voice now notice clear differences. Her voice has become a lot lower and that has not only to do with growing up. The singer was diagnosed with Reinke’s edema, for which she underwent surgery in 2019. Reinke’s edema is a fluid-filled swelling on both vocal cords. This is usually associated with smoking. Women suffer from it more often than men.

Cyrus told the Joe Rogan Experience podcast in 2020: “When my doctor told me about it, he said, ‘Nobody who’s shy has this. This is done through voice abuse. This is for people who talk way too much, and it usually happens when you’re in your 60s or 70s.’” Her busy work schedule as a 13-year-old also contributed to this. ,,The adrenaline you have after a show: singing does not influence your voice enormously, but especially what you do afterwards. You’re all up and running and it’s really hard to get any sleep. You stay up all night talking. Later, talking turned into smoking all night.”
