Miley Cyrus had Adele in mind when she wrote Used To Be Young

Adele is enthusiastic about Cyrus’ new single – she is downright “obsessed” with the song.

Miley Cyrus released her new single “Used To Be Young” and music video on August 25th. The singer announced the song via an Instagram post: “This song is about honoring who we were, loving who we are and celebrating who we are becoming. I’m proud when I think about my past and happy when I think about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality every day. I am sincerely grateful for the stability of your unwavering support. This song is for you, ”Cyrus dedicates the work to her fans.

Not only her followers, but also the British singer Adele is “obsessed” with the song. She announced this to her viewers at one of her live shows “Weekends With Adele” in Las Vegas. When the clip was shared online, Cyrus responded to her colleague on X (formerly Twitter): “I thought about you a lot while writing this song and I always hoped you would enjoy it. It means the world to me. I love you. Mission accomplished.”

On August 24, Miley Cyrus also released the video series “Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions)”. In it, the singer reflects on her career and shares thoughts on emotional moments from the past, such as her public discussion ten years ago with the late Sinéad O’Connor.

The discussion sparked in 2013 after Miley Cyrus named the Irish singer as the inspiration for her “Wrecking Ball” music video. Responding to Sinead O’Connor’s open letter warning the child star not to become an industry “prostitute,” Cyrus only responded with pictures of the “Nothing Compares 2-U” singer while she was struggling with mental health issues. “I had no idea the fragile mental state she was in, and I was only 20 years old, so mental illness was a bit of a stretch for me. All I saw was another woman telling me that this idea wasn’t my idea,” the American singer explains in the current video series.

Miley Cyrus’ eighth studio album ENDLESS SUMMER VACATION was released in March this year. Her single “Flowers” stayed at number 1 on the American charts for five weeks.
