The footballer is a traveler. He pursues a job that comes from a dream. No one, no matter how talented, can feel like they have a satisfying and profitable career. Variables and unexpected events are a constant in the profession. Here, then, the origins take on a more decisive relevance. They are roots often consolidated by distance, to which we always cling, in one way or another, as much as possible. Many choose music to feel the call of home, expressed as each person’s soul suggests: listened to, sung, created. Rafael Leao and Pasquale Mazzocchi are the two sides of a sheet of score.

The musical counterpart of the Portuguese talent is called Way 45. The number recalls the postal code of the street where he was born, in Almada. In three years he has released two albums: Beginning and My life in each verse, the genre oscillates between rap, trap and drill. The passion arose within the home, transmitted by his father Antonio who enjoyed this as a young man. A very young Rafa created a small studio, in which he rehearsed. The son’s vocation has taken root so much that when Leao thinks of a life after football, he imagines it with the microphone in his hand. “I really like rapping, I think that when I finish my career I could do this. For now it’s just a pastime, in which I talk about my life and the sacrifices made to get here. I’m not the type to show emotions and feelings, but through music I can do it.” The songs are mostly in Portuguese, but there are also some in Italian. To the personal interpretations, we also add the performance in training of Cenere di Lazza, a great Rossoneri fan.

Mazzocchi does not have the stigmata of a singer, but he does not lack passion, especially for music in the Neapolitan language. The most passionate and truthful one, and the most current neomelodica as No maje of Anthony is the more canonical songwriting of Sal Da Vinci. For the initiation rite into the national team he chose one of his songs, Viento. A performance particularly appreciated by Donnarumma and Immobile, who ironically recommended it to entertain guests at ceremonies. In Milan-Napoli they will act on two different flanks, on the pitch they will most likely only meet very little. Who knows, but one day they won’t be able to play and sing it together.
