Milan, Elliott says goodbye: ‘The club will go ahead with the same managers’

It is the open letter written by the Elliott Fund to the people of Milan. The reflections with which the Singer family takes leave after four years of leading a club brought from sixth place to the Scudetto and from the financial collapse to a sustainable budget. But above all, it is a leave that sweeps the shadows on the future of the current management. So also of Maldini and Massara: “With the new agreement the same exceptional leaders who have brought us this far will remain at the helm”. What is called clarity.

Reports the letter: “A truly unique championship has just ended with the much desired joy of winning Serie A – reads the letter -. It was a result achieved with hard work, sacrifice and great team spirit. Throughout the season, our players have faced not only valued rivals on the pitch but also many who doubted our success. Despite everything, we have never stopped believing in it. Our management began in 2018, at a time when few would have expected such a clear revolution. At the time, we promised financial stability, solid management and success on the pitch for AC Milan – a sustainable model with a focus on fundamentals. Then we get into more technical speeches: “We have agreed to transfer Elliott’s controlling stake in AC Milan to RedBird Capital Partners while remaining a significant investor in the company while also retaining representatives on the Board of Directors. RedBird sees the same opportunities in Milan that we have seen. In passing the baton we underlined three fundamental values: same goals, continuity of purpose and financial solidity. We believe RedBird is perfectly positioned to carry forward a vision for AC Milan that we share. RedBird, like us, believes in the development of a sustainable and successful club, and will keep AC Milan financially solid and focused on the future. Our belief is that the best is yet to come. And with the new agreement, the same outstanding leaders who have brought us this far will remain at the helm.
