Bayern Munich’s Champions League round of 16 opponents Lazio Rome have moved up to fifth place in the Italian football championship.
The team from the Eternal City won against US Lecce 1-0 (0-0) and thus moved past FC Bologna (1-2 at Cagliari Calcio) and temporarily also Atalanta Bergamo (on Monday against Frosinone Calcio).
Lazio’s gap to rivals AC Fiorentina in fourth and final Champions League place is now just one point after Fiorentina’s 2-2 (0-1) draw against Udinese Calcio.
At the top, former champions AC Milan remain on the heels of the top duo with league leaders Inter Milan (5-1 at AC Monza on Saturday) and pursuers Juventus Turin (on Tuesday against US Sassuolo). Milan won against AS Roma 3-1 (1-0) and moved within four points of Juve, at least for two days.
Inter is currently five points ahead of Turin.
