Lots of enthusiasm and desire to run for the 8000 participants Milan 21 who left yesterday morning from Via Arona, right next to the Vigorelli velodrome. There were approximately 5500 participants in the half marathon race and 2500 in the parallel 10 km distance. A human river that created some problems when the leader of the longest race ended up inside the mass of the slowest runners of the 10km race.

Milan 21, 2023 results: Surprise victories

There were then some surprise results regarding the registrations of the best announced in recent days due to some last-minute registrations. At least over the half marathon distance.

Men’s half marathon: Nfamara show

The men’s race of 21 km 097 meters was without history. Dominated from the start by the 25 year old Nfamara Njie, a boy native to Gambia, the smallest African country, who escaped from his country years ago on a boat and then landed in Italy, where he found a new family unit in Salento. In our country he therefore honed his running talent, managing to run the 10,000m in 29.24.43 and the half marathon in 1h04.20. Here in Milan he won with a time of 1h04.33 touching his personal best by running at 3.03/3.04 per km. Behind him, the 21 year old was also very good Nicolò Gallo promising athlete from Mondovì, who finished in second position in 1h05.15, a largely new personal best compared to the previous 1h06.38. The Slovak’s time of 1h05.50 was also good in third place Tibor Sahajda. The French then completed the top five places Laurent Tsang Chun Zse with 1h07.16 and the Lombard Andrea Astolfi with 1h07.34.

Women’s half marathon: Bianca and Francesca

No surprises however in the parallel 10 km race. With victory for the favourite, the 26 year old from Treviso Daniele Ferronatoin 30.52, after a close fight with the Trieste rider Tobia Bellamia, born in 1998, second with 30.58. In third place, with 31.11, the thirty-year-old Stefano Ghenda, Ferronato’s clubmate. Close duel also between the women. With final success in 35.50 for the expert from Bergamo Gloria Giudiciborn in 1987. With just seven seconds ahead of the 25-year-old from the region Beatrice Bianchi, which, with 35.57, pulverized the previous personal score of 37.24. Further back, on the third step of the podium, the young girl then climbed Greta Cerea, born in 2003 at Pro Sesto Atletica. A great chronometric improvement arrived for her too given that with 36.23 it took off exactly two minutes and one second to his previous best performance over the 10 km distance.
