Launching the Yle Half Seven program Mikko Kekäläinen celebrated his 45th birthday on Monday, March 14th. The anniversary was also taken into account in Yle’s live television broadcast, when Annekina Heikkilä, Kekäläinen’s colleague, instructed Kekäläinen to focus on the studio’s big screen.
Ella Kanninen, Kekälä’s second colleague, was able to surprise the man completely with her video greetings from Italy.
– Mikko, today is an important day. Today is the sun’s birthday. Of course, I could not completely ignore such an anniversary. Here’s a little greeting from Tuscany, my friends, Kanninen says in the video.
The video includes the singing of the Santa Lucia al Borghetto choir, and during the music, Kekäläinen’s childhood and youth are also seen. The surprise made Kekäläinen completely sensitive and he wiped away the tears from his eyes.
