Mikko Alatalo remembers his wife’s suicide in Vain lääää program

Musician Mikko Alatalo recalls the tragedy he faced in the early 1990s in Vain lääää program.

Mikko Alatalo’s life has been overshadowed by tragedy. Four

Mikko Alatalo got married Marja Mattila with in 1973, and two sons were born to the family. In 1992, sad news about Marja reached Alatalo. Marja had committed suicide.

Alatalo has from time to time spoken about the tragedy in public, and in Vain lääää program he takes Marja as a speaker. This week, the program celebrates Alatalo Day.

– Marja fell asleep by her own hand and it was a shocking tragedy in the lives of the boys and me, Alatalo states.

“You can never forget it”

The musician’s mind is rooted in how some Finns reacted sadly to the enormous sadness that befell the Alatalo family.

– What’s worse is that some people were even a little bit happy. “Now it hit the wall that dude”. I met such people too, sighs the musician.

– The vast majority were those who sent messages and letters and supported and encouraged that now there is nothing to do but move forward.

Alatalo says that he will probably carry the memory of his late wife in his mind until the end of his life.

– You can never forget it. They will surely remember those things even on their deathbed, the musician states in the episode.

Alatalo has been married since 1995 Seija Alatalo with. They have two sons.
