Mike Snoei is disappointed with missed opportunities, despite winning: “Every mistake can be fatal”

Telstar won a home game for the second time this season tonight with a late goal by Quinten van den Heerik against MVV: 2-1. Things almost went wrong in the final phase, as trainer Mike Snoei also saw. “We played so strong, then you make it unnecessarily difficult for yourself by not scoring more often.”

A real tease for MVV was Zakaria Eddahchouri. “He is developing fantastically. Zakaria gave Özgür Aktaş an unpleasant evening. If it remains 1-0 for so long, any mistake can be fatal.”

“Joey (Houweling) saved us at the last minute,” Snoei continues. “You have to decide such a match earlier, but I can enjoy the fighting spirit.”

Afterwards, Snoei also discussed the situation surrounding Lassana Faye, the defender was missing for the fourth time against MVV. “He is having a hard time at Telstar. That boy has enormous expectations, but at a certain point your credit runs out. He had difficulty with his new role (on the bench and not in the selection).”

According to Snoei, he has not been thrown out of the selection, but it will be ‘a very difficult story’ for Faye.

Devon Koswal made his starting debut for Telstar after three substitute appearances. “It’s nice that I was allowed to start in the starting line-up and it’s extra nice when you get the victory over the line like that. I especially had a relieved feeling about this starting place. Fortunately I got the chance today, that’s nice. I was hoping for a full competition, but this is also nice.”
