Mikaela Shiffrin dominates giant slalom in Lienz

The American Mikaela Shiffrin won the giant slalom in Lienz and celebrated her 92nd World Cup victory. Federica Brignone from Italy came second ahead of Sweden’s Sara Hector.

Mikaela Shiffrin continues to compete in her own league. The American won the giant slalom in Lienz in 2:05.98 minutes, ahead of Federica Brignone (Italy / +0.38 s) and the Swede Sarah Hector (+0.45).

Strong first run from Shiffrin

For Shiffrin it was the 22nd World Cup victory in this discipline and the 92nd individual victory in her career. The 28-year-old benefited from an outstanding first run, which she managed to cross the finish line in the second round with a lead of almost four tenths.

She won ahead of Federica Brignone, who was able to improve in the final after fifth place in the first round. “The first run was terrible.
