The Nashville Predators have traded by Mikael Granlund to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In exchange for the 31-year-old Finnish forward, the Predators will receive a second-round draft pick for next summer’s draft.

– Mikael is a versatile attacker who can play on the wing as well as in the middle and help in the attack. He has experience in both overpower and underpower play, so we get options for our lineup, Penguin’s GM Ron Hextall planned.

Sidney Crosby and Yevgeny Malkin starred Penguins holds the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

A big mess

Granlund’s contract covers the next two seasons in addition to the current season. In the upcoming season, the Finn’s salary, the cap-hit to be counted in the team’s budget, is six million dollars.

The Penguins are the third club of Granlund’s NHL career. The Minnesota Wild’s first-round pick has played 729 regular season games in the Buck League, with 144+335=479 power points.

This season, “Granny” has produced 36 power points in 58 games.
