In the next episode of My Family Secrets, actress Miitta Sorvali dives into the past of the tide.
There is a mighty man who appeared in the family of his mother in the 17th century, Magdalena.
The Magdalena district, Turku, was still part of the Kingdom of Sweden in the 17th century and grew strongly. There was a time of different strata of the people, and efforts were made to educate the people.
Magdalena was born the daughter of a merchant, but in any case, her portrait can be found on the wall of Turku Castle. On the same wall also hangs a portrait of Magdalena’s wife, a merchant Justista.
Ironing the walls
Miita’s grandmother was only 17 years old after she married Justin – a man 17 years older than her.
The couple had eight sons and one daughter. However, three of the sons and the daughter died small.
A piece of the wall and basement of Magdalena’s former home can still be found along the river bank of Turku. The myth can be used to stroke the walls and light a candle.

Magdalena died of fever at the age of 34. He was buried in Turku Cathedral.

Engagement
But there are also interesting men in Miita’s family. Especially Martti-uk is fascinated because Miitta never had time to meet him.
Miitta only knows in advance that Martti married his grandmother, I movedwith.

But then the nurse Siiri, Miita’s future grandmother, was found.
As a doctor, Martti specialized in gynecology and childbirth. He wrote articles on the subject as well as one book. The man is considered one of the pioneers of maternity care in Finland.
The gift of performance
Miitta herself is from a family of seven. His father was a pastor, his mother a family therapist.
Miitta believes that the gift of performance was inherited from her father.
– Dad sometimes said that it’s not far from the actor’s job, if you even give a sermon, the actor recalls.
Interestingly, Martti-uk’s diaries reveal that he also played younger.
