Miguel Pesce: “It is not reasonable to say that we are going to have an inflation of 15,000%”

“It is not reasonable to say that we are on the way to a inflation of 15,000%. Inflation is an imbalance between supply and demand. When supply does not cover demand, inflation occurs. The restriction on growth that causes inflation is the payment market,” said the head of the Central Bank, Miguel Ángel Pesce.

“Although I have already made my resignation available to the president, which has not yet been accepted, I continue to be president of the Central Bank, and I assume that my successor, who is Santiago Bausili”, continued the economist. “Javier Milei said what was going to happen, we heard that there was going to be hyperinflation since 2020. It seems to me that what he was doing is a counterfactual test, what he is going to say is how we had to take all these measures, what we said was going to happen did not happen,” Pesce added, marking what a good part of of the former government, insisting that the inheritance is not as disastrous as the president-elect insists.

“We have a habit of attributing good and bad things to presidents. The good news is that we are exporting more than 80 billion dollars, next year it will be 90 thousand. AND We are on our way to exporting 140 million dollars. We do not have an energy restriction on growth, towards the future we will be able to grow. “This restriction that we have suffered since 2011 is going to be relaxed,” Pesce insisted, predicting a near future of growth in income in dollars.

“Exports regained dynamism during Alberto Fernández’s administration. One year it grew, one year the product fell. What it gave was neutral growth. Then They were 3 recessive years, also due to the pandemic“, was the balance in dialogue with Tuny Kollmann on Radio 10 (“Rayos investment. We start with the first steps to solve it.”
