Kirshnik Khari Ball, also known as the Takeoff of hip-hop trio Migos, was shot dead in Houston on Tuesday (November 01) at the age of 28. The Lawrenceville, Georgia-born rapper was out with his uncle and rap partner Quavo at a bowling alley playing dice until he was reportedly shot at 2:30 a.m.

It was said to have been a headshot or a body hit near the head. Quavo was not injured, but according to the police report, two other people were taken to the hospital.

Houston, Texas police have confirmed the incident, writing, “One victim was included [ihrer] Arrived already deceased.” However, the identity of the person would not be released “until the family has been notified.”

In photos showing the late rapper and his uncle after the crime, Quavo can be recognized by an orange t-shirt. A few hours earlier, he had posted an Instagram story in which he was seen wearing the T-shirt. Takeoff was censored on the images.

The two rappers had recently released their joint album “Only Build For Infinity Links”. The music video for “Messy,” one of the songs on their album, was released just hours before.

His cousin and third member of the Migos, Offset, was not there but was celebrating Halloween with his wife, Cardi B, and their children. The three related rappers have been performing under the Migos moniker since 2008 and went platinum in the US with their album Culture (2017) and double platinum with the follow-up Culture II (2018). Their most famous track is “Bad and Boujee” and comes from the album “Culture”. The song went quadruple platinum in the US and gold in Germany.
