The Midnight Walk in Assen raised 25,500 euros. The amount will go towards combating child poverty in the provincial capital.
One in fifteen children grows up in poverty, and more than 1,000 children in Assen and the surrounding area also live on or below the poverty line. The Midnightwalk, in collaboration with Kinderhulp, supports projects that offer children the opportunity to participate.
The Midnight Walk is a sponsored run where a route of approximately 7 kilometers is walked for a fee. Along the way there are all kinds of acts and stages, where different artists perform.
Last year, the Midnight Walk raised 15,000 euros and donated to the National Children’s Aid Fund.
