Christopher Scott has not yet progressed beyond the status of hopeful talent at FC Bayern. As a result, the midfielder is apparently already planning his departure from Munich.
How “sky” reported, Scott is flirting with a move to the Premier League. According to this, the 19-year-old would like to play more in the future.
His advisor Christian Nerlinger, together with Scott’s father and the best friend of the family on Säbener Straße, is said to have already held talks with club managers Jochen Sauer and Marco Neppe. Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic also joined later, it is said.
Scott’s contract with FC Bayern expires in the summer, so he could move on a free transfer. However, the club has a unilateral option to extend it. FC Bayern could still collect around 600,000 euros for the attacking midfielder.
For this, FC Bayern would first have to take the contract option, could then let Scott go for the equivalent value mentioned and also secure a buyback option.
Appearances currently only at FC Bayern II
In any case, there doesn’t seem to be a lack of interested parties. According to “Sky”, there have been talks between Scott and the traditional Scottish club Celtic Glasgow and the English first division club FC Brentford for a long time. Several Bundesliga clubs should also be on the talented right foot. The TV broadcaster does not give specific names.
In January 2020, the native of Cologne moved from Bayer Leverkusen to FC Bayern. In the 2020/21 season, Scott even made two appearances for Bayern’s first team, coming on as a late substitute in the Bundesliga. However, the two-time U20 national player did not manage to contribute to a goal.
In the current season, Scott is playing for the Munich U23 team in the Bavarian regional league. There he was only able to complete 13 games this season due to an interim knee injury. Scott also missed four games because he was at pro training camp.
