Mick Schumacher’s F1 career coming to an end

The son of an F1 legend is not the hottest currency in the driver market.

Mick Schumacher is driving in his second season in the F1 series. PDO

Mick Schumacher and the collaboration with Ferrari is ending after this year, Autosport reports.

If realized, it would have a big impact on the 23-year-old German’s future dreams in the F1 series.

Schumacher, who is in his second season in the F1 series, has been part of Ferrari’s junior program for years. Thanks largely to that, he became the second racing driver of Haas, which cooperates with the Italian team, in the 2021 season.

Like Haas, Schumacher has improved his performance since the disastrous last season, but the results have remained weak despite this. The German, who collected 12 World Championship points, is 15th in the series points, four places ahead of his teammate Kevin Magnussen lower.

Schumacher does not yet have a contract for next season. In the driver roulette, Haas is being matched with Daniel Ricciardo, who was fired from McLaren, or the one still supported by Ferrari Antonio Giovinazziwhich lost its place in the series at the end of last season.

In Schumacher’s camp, hope is tuned in the direction of AlphaTauri. Provided Pierre Gasly Jumps to Alpine, a place becomes available in Red Bull’s sister team. Yuki Tsunoda alongside, however, there is also the IndyCar series Colton Heart.

Sebastian Vettel end his handsome career for this season. If Schumacher drops out of the series, we would see an F1 starting grid without a German for the first time since the 1991 season.

An entire season without a German F1 driver was last seen in 1981.
