Mick Schumacher will not get a new contract with Haas for the time being

Mick Schumacher’s contract in Formula 1 expires. And the 23-year-old faces an uncertain future. Because his team may be planning without him.

Team Haas is apparently suspending contract talks with Mick Schumacher. This is reported by RTL and “ntv”. For the time being, the 23-year-old will not receive a new working paper from the US racing team. During the three-week summer break, negotiations between the teams and the drivers are in full swing. Fernando Alonso, for example, will switch from Alpine to Aston Martin for the coming season and will succeed Sebastian Vettel there.

In the current season, Schumacher has only collected twelve World Cup points, which tends to weaken his basis for negotiations. Teammate Magnussen has 22 – and with a shorter pre-season.

According to RTL and “ntv”, team boss Günther Steiner expects a clear improvement from Schumacher, who has shown very inconsistent performances this season and has had problems with the car several times.
