They have been together for more than a decade, but Mick Jagger and his partner Melanie Hamrick (with whom he has one child) rarely appear in public together. Now her debut as a writer appears with “First Position”. According to Vanity Fair, this is a thoroughly risqué tale inspired by her time as a ballerina – and by her future husband.
At least that’s what the dedication “To my love, thank you for your endless support and inspiration” and the addition of a winking emoji suggest. Jagger has already promoted the literary ambitions of the choreographer, who also worked as a dancer at American Ballet Theatre, calling the work “pretty cheeky” in an Instagram video.
Hamrick, however, who is 43 years younger than the singer, writes soberly that the plots depicted in the novel were “loosely based on some truths backstage” during her time as a ballerina.
Speaking on British TV show This Morning, however, Hamrick clarified that her first book was not a memoir and that the idea of ”having more fun than a dancer” formed the basis of the fantasies. But is Jagger really also an imaginative friction surface for erotic poetry? “I think he hopes so,” the 36-year-old said with an ambiguous laugh. In any case, her boyfriend was a great support on her way to becoming an author.

Hamrick should not have caused a shock to her partner. Jagger recently hinted that he found even his own memoirs more exciting and more difficult to describe than any autobiography (which is why he put his own memoir on hold despite the tantalizing multi-million dollar fee).
According to British media reports, the couple met at a concert in Tokyo in 2014. When their first child together was born, Jagger was already 73 years old. Both are now engaged. The Rolling Stones frontman has eight children by five women. And as his partner’s book now proves, he doesn’t run out of fun in life, even in his older rock age.
