Mick Jagger gives Yungblud a special gift at the Rolling Stones concert

as youngblood ( civil: Dominic Harrison) on June 9, 2022 a show of Rolling Stones visited in Liverpool, presented to him Mike Jagger backstage a guitar based on Buddy Holly’s instrument. The gig took place at Anfield Stadium and was part of the current Sixty tour of the UK and Europe.

Based on Buddy Holly

After recently praising Yungblud for “still seeing some life in rock ‘n’ roll,” Mick Jagger presented the 24-year-old musician with a guitar named “Blue Suede Shoes.” This was inspired by Holly’s favorite Gibson J-45.

Jagger gave Harrison the guitar to officially welcome him to the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, for which Jagger serves as an ambassador. The gift is intended to recognize Yungblud’s “contribution to the art of songwriting and performing, an important part of Buddy Holly’s legacy that the Foundation encourages and celebrates.”

Buddy Holly’s widow, Maria-Elena Holly, chose “Blue Suede Shoes” because “she felt the raw energy and exuberance of the recording had a lot in common with what she thought of Yungblud.”

After meeting Jagger, Harrison immediately took to Twitter to thank him:

“Thank you for a wonderful evening. A master class in rock n roll. Always meet your heroes!”

Mick Jagger was infected with Corona

The Stones recently had to cancel their two appearances in Amsterdam and Bern due to a corona infection from Jagger. However, the tour is set to continue in Milan next week.

The Rolling Stones began their 60th anniversary tour and aim to play stadium concerts in Europe through the end of July. There is also a stop in Germany:

  • July 27, 2022 – Veltins Arena Gelsenkirchen
