History was made in Turku last summer when the Nordic Michelin stars were awarded for the first time in Finland. Finland will now have the honor of organizing the Michelin gala for the second time. The 2024 Nordic Michelin star ceremony will be held in the Savoy Theater in Helsinki.
The Michelin organization describes Helsinki as the vibrant capital of Finnish cuisine and therefore the ideal host location for this year’s ceremony.
– We are happy that for the first time our annual Nordic ceremony will take place in the wonderful city of Helsinki. As Finland’s capital and culinary flagship, Helsinki is the perfect place to bring together the pinnacle of Nordic gastronomy, says the international director of Michelin Guide publications Gwendal Poullennec in the bulletin.
– The event announcing the Michelin stars is also a great opportunity for local operators to highlight their skills and specialties, says Helsinki’s business director. Marja-Leena Rinkineva in the bulletin.
The Michelin stars will be awarded on May 27. Michelin restaurateurs from all Nordic countries are invited to the event.
Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland are included in The Michelin Guide Nordic Countries, which is published annually.
