Rock musician Michael Monroe got a rocker in the 2015 The Voice of Finland program Kimmo Blomin to his team. Now Monroe remembers his friend fondly.
Blom’s death came as a complete surprise to Monroe and she still doesn’t understand that Blom is really gone.
– I sent him a message a moment ago, Monroe tells Iltalehte in disbelief.
– Yesterday I posted a video message where I sang and played the beginning of a Queen song and sent him love. Kimmo answered with a heart. Just five minutes ago I sent a video of a kiss with Seela Sella, Monroe describes. At the time of the interview, Monroe and Sella are at the Red Carpet gala in Hyvinkää.
He reveals that he didn’t know Blom was in such bad shape as he was. Three days earlier, the musician Ville Pusa informed Monroe that Blom is in deep water. Because of that, Monroe started sending uplifting video messages to her friend.
– Lovely person. A very talented singer. It was always wonderful to see him and it was nice to be with him, says Monroe about Blom.

They often saw each other at private events when Monroe and Blom happened to have the same backing band. In The Voice of Finland, Monroe was particularly impressed by Blom’s one performance.
– My favorite performance from him was Van Halen I’ll Wait. One of the best moves in Voice history.
Blom himself commented on his participation in The Voice of Finland in the Uncensored Päivärinta program. He advanced from the 2015 duel stage, but did not advance to the finals.
– It depends on what attracts the general public at any given time and what kind of angle you want to bring out in a certain program. I’ve never directly fit any such mold. I have been walking my own path, Blom described at the time.

Monroe’s rock singer Blom’s performances and personality made an impression over the years. He has nothing but good things to say about his colleague and friend.
– A warm-hearted and funny guy, Monroe specifies in the midst of sadness.
Blom died of cancer. The musician’s partner Annica Milán confirmed the death to Iltalehti.
