Janet Jackson said in an interview that her brother Michael Jackson often made derogatory comments about their weight during their youth.
Among other things, Michael is said to tell his sister “pig, horse, slaughter pig [und] have called “cow”. That’s what Janet said in an interview with the “Daily Mail“. The actress and singer also revealed that her weight started to fluctuate when she was 11 years old. Back then, Janet landed a role on the TV show Good Times. But the stress of filming made her eat a lot.
Janet’s self-image changed while filming Good Times
“I’m an emotional eater, so if I’m stressed or something is really bothering me, give me a hand [Essen] comfort,” the singer said. “My weight problems started with ‘Good Times’, that’s when my self-image changed.”
The derogatory comments from her then 19-year-old brother only added to Janet’s uneasiness: “There were times when Mike would bully me and tell me ‘pig, horse, slaughter pig [und] called cow. Then he laughed and so did I, but deep down it hurt. It leaves a mark when one’s own weight is criticized”.
Nevertheless, the two are said to have been very close. However, that all changed after allegations against Michael of child molestation. At the time, Janet felt “guilty by association with him.”
