Michael Bolton reveals brain tumor diagnosis

Michael Bolton revealed that he was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and has already undergone surgery. The singer received the shocking news shortly before Christmas. Shortly before, ROLLING STONE had interviewed him – Bolton did not address the topic on this occasion either.

He posted a statement on Instagram at the beginning of the year and wrote: I would also like to share that 2023 has presented me with some completely unexpected challenges. Shortly before the holidays it was discovered that I had a brain tumor that required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recovering at home and am surrounded by the enormous love and support of my family.” It remains unclear what his chances of recovery are.

“I have no doubt that I will work hard to speed up my recovery.”

Bolton further announced that he wanted to focus entirely on his recovery in the coming months and would therefore be taking a break from touring. He is “working hard” to get well quickly so that he can be back on stage. “It is always the hardest thing for me to disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but I have no doubt that I will work hard to speed up my recovery and perform again soon,” the 70-year-old wrote.

It is not known how long his break from performing lasts. Several shows were planned for the American in the USA before he traveled to Europe in spring 2024.
