MIlano is preparing to welcome, from 4 to 6 April 2025, in the spaces of Allianz Mico, Myart, The international fair of modern and contemporary artan event of great importance in the global artistic panorama. Miaart returns: Milan capital of contemporary art
Under the artistic direction of Nicola Ricciardi, and with a renewed team of curators and professionals, The 2025 edition of MIART is built around the concept of friendshipunderstood as an equal, mutual, lasting and genuinely solidarity support. This orientation, It is strengthened by the title “AMONG FRIENDS”borrowed from the last retrospective dedicated to Robert Rauschenbergrevolutionary American artist, pioneer of the New Dada movement. To him, the event will pay homage to the centenary of the birth, through museum exhibitions, talk and projects, aimed at investigating his commitment to cooperation and exchange of ideas.
A path through the history of art
MIART 2025 is divided into three main sections, which have projects capable of telling more than a century of art history. It ranges from the masterpieces of the first and second twentieth centuries, up to the works related to the closest topicality, without neglecting the author’s design and making sculpture and painting, drawing and installation, video and photography dialogue. The three sections are called: Emergent, Established, Portal.

Emergent, new contemporary voices and experiments
Located at the entrance of the fair, this section edited by Attilia Fattori Franchini, It presents 25 galleries that offer a look at experimental contemporary practices. By focusing on the research, the section welcomes immersive installations, sculptural works Site-specific and large-scale. But also new works created ad hoc for the fair, with the aim of offering a look at the most stimulating contemporary practices. The section also arises as complementary to the proposals offered by the Milanese institutions on the occasion of Milan Art Week 2025. Many projects in this section are inspired by the theme “Among Friends”, such as that of Victoria Miroplaying on couples and dialogues between works, or the stand of Crvi-morawith historical artistic collaborations.

Edited for the first time by Alessio Antoniolli, director of Triangle Network in London and curator of the Memmo Foundation in Rome, This section unites ten galleries with as many projects. Everyone invites us to question our understanding of geographies, languages and fixed temporality. To name only one, for example, the Massimo Giorgetti Prize, with a value of 5,000 euros, who supports young artists at the beginning of their career. The juries of these prestigious awards are made up of leading international directors and curators.

The centrality of Milan in the artistic panorama is further strengthened by the numerous collaborations and initiatives that take place in conjunction with Miaart and within the Milan Art Week 2025. For example,

The Visual campaign of MIART 2025, curated for the fourth consecutive year by Cabinet Milano, translates the key concepts of Robert Rauschenberg into images as collaboration, active participation and dialogue. Through photographs and videos of Marton Perlaki and Dodi Vekony, the campaign stages collaborative actions with a suspended sense, creating A “theater of the absurd” which reflects on the loss of meaning and the importance of collaboration and humor. Graphically, the art system is interpreted as a map of interconnected electrical circuits.
