Mia and Dion eliminated in the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal: “They got the most out of it”

The Dutch Eurovision duo Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper are not through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. With the number Burning daylight did not manage to get enough points to finish in the last ten. A disappointment, also for the Eurovision connoisseur Katja from Zaandam present in Liverpool.

Katja from Zaanse is in Liverpool and tells on the phone that she thought Mia and Dion’s performance was the best so far tonight. Unfortunately it was not enough for a place in the final. “It’s really a pity. They’ve got the most out of it.”

Beforehand, the Zaanse was not very enthusiastic about the Eurovision duo and found Burning daylight a ‘difficult song’. And she sticks to that: “Your own song must be strong enough, and it wasn’t. It’s a pity that the Netherlands doesn’t.” She does praise the visual aspects. Positive as Katja is, she does not give up in Liverpool: “On to the second semi-final.”

These are the countries that did reach the final tonight: Croatia, Moldova, Switzerland, Finland, Czech Republic, Israel, Portugal, Sweden, Serbia and Norway.
