MHK statement from Beşiktaş! They did not answer – Last minute Beşiktaş news

Beşiktaş announced that they had not received a response regarding their application to the Central Referee Board on January 29, 2024, regarding the cancellation of the penalty they won in the match against Sivasspor after VAR recommended monitoring.

In the statement made on the social media account of the black-whites, the following statements were made:

“We would like to inform the public that we have not yet received a response regarding our application below to the Central Referee Board on January 29, 2024, regarding the cancellation of the penalty kick we won in the match our Football A Team played against Sivasspor, after VAR recommended monitoring.

To the President of the TFF Central Referee Board

In the Sivasspor – Beşiktaş match played in Sivas on 28.01.2024, the referee gave a penalty decision for our football player Salih Uçan in the position where he remained down. The VAR referees of the match called the referee to the monitor with the recommendation of re-watching, and as a result, the decision was made to cancel.

We kindly ask you to inform us about the nature of the recommendation made by VAR to change the decision by examining the discretion of the referee, who has full knowledge of all the dynamics in the game, which written article depends on VAR’s intervention in this matter, and the reason if it depends on a written article.

Likewise, due to its similarity to the issue we mentioned, why did the VAR referee not warn the referee of the match in the Beşiktaş – Adana Demirspor match of the previous week, where our player Milot Rashica was down, and did not show sensitivity about his investigation. We request that you make a statement explaining the reasons why two different approaches were taken in two very similar events.

Our club sees it as a necessity that will contribute to the good game, that the referee, who is an important pillar of the justice mechanism of football, is the real actor of the game, and that he performs fair management without receiving support from the VAR room, except for vital mistakes.

It is regrettable that the limits of the single management principle leave question marks in minds in the decisions taken in two consecutive weeks. We think that it would be beneficial for the referee-VAR standard to be known by the public. We look forward to your response to our information request.
