MHK President Sabri Çelik spoke about the referees at the Winter Seminar:

Sabri Çelik, President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Central Referee Board (MHK), said that the referees had a good break between the FIFA World Cup.

Sabri Çelik made statements to the press at the MHK Winter Seminar held in Antalya.

Providing information about the seminar, Chairman Çelik said:

“Our seminar was very successful. We held our seminar with the Super League referees and assistant referees. Starting tomorrow, TFF 1st League referees and assistant referees, and the last 2 days of the seminar, our Super League and TFF 1st League observers will come. It is very busy. We have a training program. They have been loaded with incredible information. The referees were given very detailed information on handballs, struggles, positions in the penalty area, VAR management and offside. Our UEFA trainer, former UEFA Referees Committee Vice President Hugh Dallas, and UEFA’s VAR trainer are Polish Pawel Gil was also here. They had a very intense training. The first part of our seminar ends today. Tomorrow (Wednesday 14 December), TFF 1st League referees and assistant referees, as well as our FIFA female referees and assistant referees will be here.”

Stating that athletic tests were applied to the referees within the scope of the seminar, Çelik said, “Athletic tests were carried out completely under the cameras, all of them recorded. Our Super League referees and assistant referees finished the test very successfully, without wasting it. The same test was performed on Thursday by the TFF 1st League referees and assistant referees. We don’t have any losses in the tests at the moment. Our referees spent the half-time well prepared.” used the phrases.

MHK President Çelik, regarding the allegations that the referees who are candidates for wearing FIFA badges could not pass the English test, said, “There was very misleading information on this subject. We applied an English test to the referees and assistant referees working in the Super League at the beginning of the season. This happened with an organization agreed by the TFF. We asked them if they wanted to participate. Those who wanted to participate successfully passed this test. Other information is completely unfounded.” he said.
