Hirving Lozano is again a PSV player. The Eindhoven club announced the return of the 28-year-old Mexican on Friday evening at the jubilee gala in honor of its 110th anniversary. He has signed a contract until mid-2028.
Lozano became champion last season with the Italian Napoli. He still had an ongoing contract there. PSV reportedly paid 15 million euros for him. Lozano also played for PSV between 2017 and 2019. He then came into action sixty times and scored a total of 34 times. In 2018 he became champion with PSV.
With the arrival of Lozano, the people of Eindhoven once again have a new choice at the forefront. With Noa Lang, Luuk de Jong, Ismael Saibari, Ricardo Pepi and Yorbe Vertessen, trainer Peter Bosz has several options in the front.
“It was both my own wish and my family’s wish to return to PSV. Our first stay here was special, we have always remembered that. I am very much looking forward to playing minutes here again and this period even more successful than the previous one,” said Lozano.
Director of football affairs Earnest Stewart calls Lozano’s return a godsend. “A while ago we received the first signals that he wanted to come to PSV. Bringing a player from Serie A to the Eredivisie is not easy, but his quality is beyond doubt so we absolutely wanted to seize this opportunity. This transfer brings us back one step closer to the ambitions in the league and in the Champions League.”
