The supporters will certainly see a different winner than in 2021, because Wout Van Aert will not be there on January 14. The Belgian Championship is not on his programme. That of course opens up perspectives for others.
“The title battle is open in many categories, including the men’s elite. The fact that Wout does not start is of course a loss for the organization and the federation, but from a purely sporting point of view we will have a very nice battle,” says national coach Sven Vanthourenhout. In that category he mainly looks towards Iserbyt and Vanthourenhout.
