Meta’s Ray-Ban Stories will be available in France from April 14

After launching in the United States in September, Ray-Ban Stories by Meta land in France as well as in Spain, Austria and Belgium. Launch scheduled for April 14 on the French market for these new generation glasses.

The Ray-Ban Stories arrive in France

Connected glasses are eagerly awaited by technophiles. Meta’s Ray-Ban Stories allow you to take photos and videos, share them, listen to music or even answer a call. Features quite similar to those of a smartphone. For Mark Zuckerberg, these glasses “offer a new experience that allows you to stay connected to the real world”. Ray-Ban Stories connects directly to Facebook View, an iOS and Android app, to allow the distribution of content on social networks.

The glasses launched last year in the United States, in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, therefore land on four new markets. Ray-Ban Stories will be available for sale from 329 euros online and in several authorized stores. Meta and EssilorLuxottica have chosen a simple model, “timeless style”. They are equipped with 3 microphones, offer Bluetooth connectivity and have a dual 5MP camera on the front. In short, a little technological gem that allows you to take photos and videos of up to 30 seconds.

Connected glasses to use your smartphone as little as possible

A detail that is important: when taking an image, a red light is activated to indicate to people nearby that a photo or video is being taken. When it comes to eyewear control, users have two options: a dedicated button on the branches or the voice assistant of Meta which makes it possible to trigger the various functionalities offered by the Ray-Ban Stories. The principle is to allow users to keep their smartphone in their pocket. A use that is similar to that of connected watches.

In April, when the Ray-Ban Stories are released in France, Meta is planning a few updates. The duration limit of recorded videos will pass 30 to 60 seconds. It will also be possible to use voice commands in French and the mobile application that accompanies the gadget will also be available in French. Regarding the protection of user privacy, Meta assures that its teams will not have access to personal data, and that “The information collected from Facebook View is not used for advertising purposes”.
