CDA party chairman Henk Jumelet also spoke to Willem Alexander. He emphasized the declining confidence in politics and the many issues facing the province. “A new crisis arises while the old one has not yet been resolved,” Jumelet outlined the policy in The Hague that the province has to deal with. Jumelet has been a deputy for agriculture and nature for the past four years and due to all the problems with nitrogen, that portfolio has become by far the heaviest.
Jumelet: “There are major problems in agriculture, everything is being legalized. There is great uncertainty for many farms. The PAS reporters are still waiting for a solution. I have sent various motions from these states to the cabinet. embarrassed that nothing has been arranged yet.”
After the king joined the Provincial Council, talks followed with all fourteen party chairmen. PVV leader Nico Uppelschoten said in his plea that all political parties must help to make the success of the BBB in Drenthe politics. Otherwise, the voice of the dissatisfied voter will not be heard.
