“The new location has only advantages. We increase safety for both the ship and visitors, we can maintain the ship better and at lower costs and in the long term we can also make our beautiful Mercator more accessible,” says Mayor Bart Tommelein. For example, a ramp or lift would eventually be installed to make the main deck wheelchair accessible.
