The European Parliament is calling for the right to abortion to be included in the Charter of Fundamental Rights, which defines the fundamental rights and freedoms of EU citizens. The House is doing this after the controversial decision of the US Supreme Court to remove the federal right to abortion in the US. “The right to abortion is also under attack in Europe,” says Hilde Vautmans (Open VLD).
