A 50-year-old man from Meppel is guilty of assaulting his best friend’s daughter. He touched the then 18-year-old woman while rubbing it with baby oil. The judge sentenced him to five months in prison, three months of which were suspended.
De Meppeler lived with his mother after a divorce. The young woman was a child at home when she was assaulted by him on January 9, 2021. The woman shaved his scalp and then smeared the man with baby oil. In turn, he also smeared her with oil, because she complained of back problems.
He pulled down her underpants. And he kissed her against her will. He had to know that he was crossing the line and that his behavior was unacceptable, the judge ruled. Especially now that the woman also saw a father figure in him and there was a relationship of trust. He took advantage of that.
De Meppeler has been convicted before, including for stalking. The penalty imposed is equal to the demand. The Meppeler must undergo a psychological examination and cooperate in treatment. He must also have himself checked for alcohol consumption.
