Two men who threw a burning beer bottle into the home of a Groningen journalist in 2021 have been sentenced to five years in prison and TBS with conditions. According to the court in Groningen, they were guilty of attempted murder and arson.

The 32-year-old Tjeerd P. and 33-year-old Jaimy John W. (both seen in the image above the article) threw a burning beer bottle through the front door of journalist Willem Groeneveld of the city blog on August 19, around 3:00 a.m. sikkom.
Groeneveld and his partner managed to put out the fire and were unharmed. The action was captured by security cameras that hung at Groeneveld’s upstairs apartment. The men had three beer bottles with them, two were left outside the door. The court has established that it concerns Molotov cocktails.
P. and W. belonged to a group of corona conspiracy thinkers. They knew each other from demonstrations. Groeneveld wrote critically about this group of conspiracy theorists. Because according to experts P. and W. are less accountable, a tbs treatment has been imposed.
