Since mid-April, the Helsinki police have come to the attention of at least 23 cases where the victim has been asked for nude photos and then extorted money. Suspected scammers find their victims on social media. Young men are usually chosen as victims. The conversation often moves from Facebook or a dating app to another app like Snapchat. There, the scammer sends the victim a nude photo that he claims is his. At the same time, the victim is asked to send an intimate photo of himself.
